Between the two bands, it was easily the best show of the year, in my humble book, but then again, I don't get out that much anymore. The only other must-see in this town is the annual John Lennon tribute put on by Curtiss A. on Dec. 8. Its worth the trip. Really! Hope you can make it. When Ernie joined you onstage for your last song, along with the girl playing the mini-theremin, that was about as good as it gets. Sensory overload! Sort of like the Butthole Surfers, but with a message. Speaking of the Mofos, what do you think? Billy and Ernie have been doing their thing for decades now and I sure feel lucky to have them in our town. Personally, I think they should be national treasures, but maybe it's just me. I'm all for agitainment! The current state of our government, as you're all acutely aware, is an utter travesty, but whattya do? Turn into Schopenhauer? I have do remain Billy Batson positive. You were right about Wellstone in one of your little screeds, but Ventura was probably the biggest asshole that ever walked this planet. His non-stop fake bravado didn't play well locally. He trumpeted tax relief, but lined his own pockets from his "fame". But I digress. Gotta go. Say hi to Gene Keady for me. | |||
